Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)

The CTP is a credential that is recognized in the finance industry as a badge of competency in corporate treasury. More than 38,000 treasury professional world wide are CTPs. The Certified Treasury Professional designation is sponsored by the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP). A CTP treasury analyst can earn 13% more than a peer without the certification. Many professionals receive this designation to improve their marketability. After receiving the designation you are required to renew it every three years through continual education. In order to take the exam you must meet certain education and/or work requirements.

The test is a 170 multiple choice exam offered during two testing windows each year.

The main study tool for this test is the book published by AFP named Essentials of Treasury Management. Each question on the CTP exam is derived from the body of knowledge found in this book. Currently its on its sixth edition.
